XL Re appoints Latin America president
XL Re has announced the appointment of Philippe Rochaix as the new president and chief operating officer of XL Re Latin America Ltd.
Rochaix, whose appointment is effective from 1 October, is presently general manager and senior VP of XL Re Europe Limited’s French Branch.
During the transition period he will collaborate closely with the incumbent, Stephen Outerbridge, who is moving to take on new responsibilities within the firm’s Reinsurance Operations.
Rochaix’s present duties will be taken on by Bertrand Romagne, on 1 October.
Rochaix brings more than two decades of experience in (re)insurance to his new post, including a decade in emerging markets.
Prior to his present post he worked for XL Re as chief underwriting officer of XL Re Singapore, and before joining the firm he was MD of Le Mans Re‘s regional operations in Singapore, Sydney and Labuan.
