Aviva appoints public policy director
Aviva has announced the appointment of Sam White as its group public policy director, effective from 1st November 2010.
Mr White will have overall responsibility for implementing the insurer’s global public policy, regulatory agenda and strategy, across its core markets of the UK and Europe, as well as North America and Asia.
He will be based in London and report to chief marketing and communications officer, Amanda Mackenzie.
According to Aviva, Mr White comes with wide-ranging experience in strategy, communications and public policy, having most recently worked for Alistair Darling, when Chancellor of the Exchequer
Prior to this, he held special adviser roles at the Departments of Trade & Industry, and Transport.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr White says he is looking forward to the new challenges it will bring.
Adding: “It is an important time in the debate about public policy within the insurance sector and getting it right will be essential for customers and industry alike.”
